About Fowey
Fowey is a port town and civil parish at the mouth of the River Fowey in south Cornwall. The town has been in existence since well before the Norman invasion, with the local church first established in the 7th century. Fowey formed a natural harbour which enabled it to become an important trading centre for the region.

There is a passenger ferry link running to Polruan, and car ferry to Bodinnick. The du Maurier Festival Society runs the Fowey Festival of Arts and Literature each May, the month of Daphne du Maurier’s birth. There is a primary school and secondary school within the town.
